Siraj Ahmed was appointed to his current role at the end of 2018, having joined the company in early 2014, as General Counsel.
Through his tenure as General Counsel, and then CEO, he has worked with the Management Team to oversee the growth of the business outside of South Africa, building a high impact portfolio in Southern and Western Africa and strong joint venture partnerships with the super majors, across Impact’s portfolio. Most notably, he led the team into the drilling phase of its portfolio, participating in three successful exploration wells, including the giant Venus discovery, offshore Namibia.
Siraj started his career in the legal profession at international law firm, Linklaters LLP where he trained and qualified into the Global Projects Team. During his time at Linklaters, Siraj advised companies on a broad range of cross-jurisdictional transactions in the oil and gas sector. His considerable experience advising on PSAs, upstream M&A, partnering and joint venture arrangements and dealing with Governments has been integral to the growth of Impact.
