Impact was invited to bid during the 10th licensing round in Gabon. The round was officially declared open in November 2013 and was attended by approximately 20 oil and gas companies including many majors. Impact was the only small private company to be invited by the Government to fully participate in the negotiation process. Impact bid for, and was awarded, 3 blocks, D13, D14 and B7 creating a world-class acreage opportunity in an exciting play, which was highly contested by the majors and large independents.

Impact and several other companies all signed their respective versions of the negotiated PSC on 8th August 2014.

In 2015, Impact acquired 2284 km2 of 3D seismic over the B7 block using Polarcus for the acquisition. This data has now been processed by Geotrace and in-house interpretation is underway. Impact intends to cover blocks D13 and D14 with one 5000 km2 3D seismic survey in 2016 and tenders are currently being submitted for this work.

As there are no well commitment on any of the blocks this work will fulfil the negotiated commitment.

The prospectivity of blocks D13 and D14 has been further enhanced by the nearby pre-salt discoveries of Diaman-1B (2013) which encountered 55m of net gas and condensate pay and Leopard Marin-1 (2014) which encountered 200m of net condensate pay.
